The Society has been instrumental in creating the first two walks below.
Aspects of Weybridge – a walk taking in a fine selection of points of interest all over Weybridge
Walk to Brooklands – a pedestrian and cycle path from Weybridge station to Brooklands
Broad Water Lake Walk – a walk along the Broad Water towards Cowey Sale and back via the Thames towpath. This walk opened to the public in 2017 after years of lobbying by local people and councillors.
Explore the Thames at Weybridge – There are two car parks by the river, a small one at ‘Weybridge Point’ where Thames Street becomes Walton Lane, and the other larger one a few hundred metres along on Walton Lane on the left. From Weybridge Point car park walk east along the towpath past the private D’Oyly Carte Island and then take the bridge up and explore around Desborough Island. Come back to Weybridge Point and look across to the foaming water of the weir at Shepperton Lock. Perhaps call for the ferry and go and visit Shepperton lock on the other side.
Return south towards Weybridge and have refreshments at the Old Crown pub, a traditional venue where you can sit in their garden by the River Wey.
Elmbridge Borough Council have produced information sheets for two local self-guided walks ;
– Broadwater Lake and Desborough Island Walk
– Wey Navigation Walk
A longer walk from Explore Surrey
– Weybridge Locks and Levels
