Message from Walton on Thames Trading Alliance (WoTTA)
WoTTA will be co-ordinating a litter pick of the Walton end of the Broad Water Lake and watercourses on SUNDAY 24 JUNE. Join us at the Desborough Island end of Cowey Sale Car Park at 10am for a safety briefing.
You will need to wear suitable clothing and footwear determined by the weather and ground conditions on the day. We recommend that you bring stout gardening gloves, however disposable abrasion resistant gloves will be freely available along with litter pickers and rubbish bags.
All young people and dogs need to be supervised all times and are the responsibility of their parents/guardians, families welcome and anyone with reasonable fitness will all be very warmly welcomed. The event will finish no later than 12 noon, so (subject to weather) why not make it a family gathering and bring a picnic?
It would be appreciated if you would RSVP to firstname.lastname@example.org with how many people in your party will be attending so that we can plan the work around available people power. If you have shears, a rake, secateurs, grappling hook, ditch rake, etc. do please bring it along if at all practicable! We will not be sawing, digging or heavy lifting on this occasion as we do not want to disturb the natural habitat for existing wildlife until this has been professionally assessed.
Please feel free to circulate this email to all interested parties that you know. If you would like to be kept up to date with progress and get involved in future clearance and remedial operations simply email me at email@example.com requesting to be added to (or removed from) the volunteers list.
