Last week saw a great success for the Society’s campaign to stop the redevelopment of Locke King House on Balfour Road. The application went to Elmbridge Council’s main planning committee where it was refused permission because; “The proposal by virtue of its bulk and mass, emphasised by the fact it would be raised from ground level on a podium, would be out of character and would harm the streetscene. The proposal would therefore have an adverse impact on the conservation area and not preserve its character.”
So a big thank you to the Society’s Planning Panel and also all the members who sent their objections into the Council.
