Weybridge Society is supporting an excellent community initiative by Walton Society.
If you have used the new footpath from Thames Street to Cowey Sale along the side of the Broad Water, you will no doubt have seen the rubbish and undergrowth and blighting the scenery along the edge of the lake.

A meeting is being held by the Walton Society, Weybridge Society and Walton on Thames Trading Alliance to find leaders and co-ordinators for clean-up operations at Broad Water Lake.
Sat 23rd/24th June from 10am
They have scheduled the weekend of the 23-24 June starting 10am both days to clear the watercourses leading from the western end (Cowey Sale) of Broad Water lake. People who just simply want to help do not need attend the meeting on 12th May but should register that they are coming and confirm the garden tools that they can bring with them (e.g. spades, shovels, rakes, shears, etc.) by email to alan.palmer@firecontingency.com. They are desperately in need of a petrol chainsaw or two along with experienced operators!
