Recent Planning Applications
In the last few weeks a number of significant new applications have been made to Elmbridge BC plus there are other applications which have been decided.
Some notable ones are given here with the links to the application details, from where Comments can be made for the new ones.
2026/1159 29-31 High Street – this is the recently vacated Home Library shop. There has been much speculation in the town that this is to become a branch of a well known burger chain. The application is for a change of use with particular emphasis that it can be used for ‘hot food takeaway’.
2026/1463 2 High Street (formerly the Elmbridge Arms) – a previous application was refused earlier in the year for 2 shops on the High Street plus 13 flats. This is now a new application to just convert the front part of the building to become a cafe – another one!
2026/0138 and 2026/0075 The Old House 4 Heath Road – The house has been standing empty and unloved for well over 10 years. This lovely old Grade 2 listed building now has permission for a variety of updating work so it can be offices for an Esher based company.
2026/0637 Bowling Club 19 Springfield Lane – after numerous applications and appeals by Birchwood Homes, outline permission has now been granted for 9 houses to be built on the site of the old Weybridge Bowling Club.
