River Thames - Widening the Desborough Channel

The Environment Agency (EA) are currently consulting on future plans for cutting down the risk of flooding from the River Thames. One of the proposals is to widen the Desborough Channel cut between Weybridge and Walton. This would have a significant impact on Walton Lane and the adjacent Thames footpath.

The consultation period for the EA strategy began on Monday 21 September 2009 and will close on Friday 4 December 2009, with a local exhibition in Mole Hall, West Molesey on 6th October, 3pm - 8pm.
