Hope for Weybridge Hall

Weybridge Hall was thrown a lifeline when Elmbridge Borough Council met with concerned local representatives to discuss its future on 14 April.

The Council has agreed to hold a public consultation into the future of the Hall at the start of the summer. Interested parties will be invited to attend once a timetable has been finalised. A number of different options for the Hall will be discussed, including the community’s offer to run the Hall. In the meantime, the Council has assured hirers and users of the Hall that it is business as usual for the Hall and bookings will continue to be taken.

Local public relations guru and supporter of the Hall, Max Clifford, says “this is good news for the Hall. I’ve spoken to so many people from different groups using the Hall who are worried that they may be forced to move out. With nowhere else in the local area offering the type of facilities that are unique to the Hall, it’s reassuring for them to know we’re moving in the right direction of a brighter future”.
