The Friends of St James are delighted that Ashley Ramsden is able to present his Christmas Carol evening in Weybridge at which he will perform Charles Dickens’ masterpiece, playing all 23 characters
He is the founding director of the School of Storytelling, the longest established centre of its kind in the United Kingdom. He has toured with his remarkable storytelling programmes on all five continents, has appeared at major storytelling festivals in the UK, South Africa, Scandinavia and America. He is as much at home telling in the Sydney Opera House or alongside the London Symphony Orchestra as he is in your front room.
The arrangements for the evening are as follows. From 7 pm. a light sandwich supper will be served in the Parish Centre. At approximately 8 pm, Ashley will give his compelling rendition of A Christmas Carol in the church. In this he plays all 23 characters in Dickens' masterpiece. This is a real tour de force which is sure to start getting everyone into the true traditional Christmas spirit. After the performance mince pies and mulled wine will be served in the Parish Centre. Throughout the evening seasonal musical entertainment will be provided by Gareth Giles.
Tickets are priced £11.50 for members and £12.50 for non-members. The performance is also suitable for children aged 8 and over for whom the ticket price will be £5.
